The Kitchen Cabinet

On our continual search for gourmet in Canberra, we came across The Kitchen Cabinet. I’ve read about the monthly food programs, but had no idea what else, if anything, it offers. So, we made a trip to the Old Parliament House for a visit.

Seasonal, artisanal, regional – what The Kitchen Cabinet is all about. Those three things drive the products at the store as well as the food events. I recognized many of the products as I have come across them at the Capital Region Farmers Market and the Old Bus Depot Markets.

Situated by the Cafe in the House, The Kitchen Cabinet has lots of goodies to offer.

Breads and baked goods made in house

Berkshire pork sausages

Potatoes from Ingelara

Sassafras chestnuts

Shallots, garlic and pecans

House made spicy salt

Venison osso bucco

La Barre vinegar, Wagonga coffee

Yatta pasta – koalas and roos!

Kanga’s Choice verjuice

Dairy products, smallgoods, fruit pastes and house made pesto

Eggs

Robyn Rowe chocolates, various honey and sauces

Homeleigh olive oil and tapenade

Curious Chocolatier salted caramel truffles

Bay leaves and garlic braids

Lindsay and Edmond chocolates

Truffles are due to arrive very soon. To celebrate, there will be truffle events held in July. I can’t wait!
